Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Where do you take your photos?
A: I tend to gravitate toward the Appalachian Mountains of SC, NC, TN, GA, and VA but I’ve developed an appreciation for the beauty of the Southeast’s coastal areas, too. Some images are even shot in my backyard. Over the next few years, plans are in place to travel across our beautiful country to capture inspiring images from coast to coast.

Q: What camera do you shoot with?
A: The short answer is a Canon 5D Mark II, but I cover this more in depth here.

Q: Do you offer discounts?
A: I offer wholesale pricing to interior designers and other art specifiers. Beyond that I offer quantity and loyalty discounts.  For more information please contact me.

Q: Are you human or a robot sent to conquer the Earth through photography & “crazy” ideas?
A: Ummm…as far as you need be concerned, I’m human.

Q: Do you print on canvas?
A: Yes, I do offer my photographs printed on canvas that is printed in house up to 44″ wide ( 40″ x 60″ canvases are no problem!).

Q: Which image is your favorite?
A: That’s like asking which of my children I love more! I’m not telling.

Q: Are you “Green”?
A: No, I’m more Peach/Pink. Seriously, though, as a nature photographer I’m pretty in tune with the environment and becoming more so as I continue along my Journey.

Q: Where do you get your inspiration?
A: I’m inspired by the entire Universe around me. Of course, that is manifest in a variety of ways: being in nature, my children, meditation, a good strong cup of coffee, etc. I hope to cover this more in my Blog.

Q: Do you shoot weddings?
A: No, I’m a pacifist photographer (ie., I don’t shoot people.) I can, however, put you in touch w/ some great wedding photographer friends.

Q: Aren’t there lot’s of nature photographers out there? Why should I buy from you?
A: Yes, there is a lot of competition out there, a few may even be better photographers than I at the moment. While I think that I offer beautiful, inspiring images, a great value, excellent service, & an overall better product than most of my competitors, I know that my photographic style isn’t for everyone. I know that sounds crazy, but what I ask is that you buy the photos that speak to you and that fulfill your art needs. If my images don’t speak to you or fit with your needs, then I understand & hope that you’ll keep my photos & I in mind next time.

Q: You sound kinda stuck up, so do you think you are the best photographer in the world?
A: I am my own worst critic when comes to my photography and that leads me to be pretty obsessive about the quality of my work. I certainly don’t think I am the best, but I do think I am pretty darn good and have worked and studied hard to get to here. I continue to hone my skills in shooting and printing in order to produce inspiring images for myself and others. I think I can let the quality of my images speak for me on this point.

Q:  If you are so good, why haven’t I heard of you before?
A:  While I have been a studied photography in college and have been a photographer for more than 20 years, much of that time was spent flying under the radar. I spent from 2001 to 2012 being a stay-at-home Dad to my 3 amazing kids, and allowing my interior designer wife to excel & advance in her career. While I spent those years observing, learning, & growing as a father, person, & artist, my marketing has really only just begun. You may not have heard of me before, BUT you have NOW.
